It is smoldering out in Michigan...

I know I complain when it is cold and complain when is hot.... I just want it to be 80 and sunny!  But I really am appreciating my flip flips in this hot weather!  And speaking of flip flops my favorite to wear are the OluKai Paniolo, they are like butter on your feet and worth the money.

Love, Peace....Flip Flops what more do you need?

You can find the Love, Peace... Flip Flops necklace HERE.  It is one of my original designs and a favorite!

New in the shop Tagua Nut necklaces

A beautiful POP of color with the Multi Colored Tagua necklace. This piece has 5 Tagua Nut's that are attached to a beautiful 18 inch chunky sterling silver chain. This necklace is a One Of A Kind as each Tagua nut is slightly different, you will receive the necklace pictured.

Tagua Nuts – also known as Vegetable Ivory are seeds that come from the tropical rainforest of South America. The seeds are sliced, dyed and polished. Each Tagua Nut is unique and has it's own variations making each a one of a kind seed. Tagua Nuts are very close to the density of animal ivory. Tagua is replacing the slaughter of mammal ivory (elephants and other) in the textile and fashion industries. In one year, one tagua palm produces as much ivory as an average female African elephant. No HARM is done to the nature and hundreds of families are employed by the Tagua nut production market. Tagua Nuts are thin, lightweight and durable.

Aleksandra Vali Jewelry

Aleksandra Vali describes her work
perfectly as "feelings carved into metal."
Her highly-textured work revolves
around experiments with silver
combined with various materials
like gold, shells, diamonds, gemstones, pearls,
corals, textiles, lava rocks, and plastics.

A variety of techniques allows her to
make the most out of these materials
through carving, casting, riveting,
oxidizing, etching and metalsmithing.

I especially like how
the rough texture of the metal
is contrasted by
smooth pearls and other gemstones.

to see more of her wonderful work.

Helena Emmans Jewelry

There's a gentle, meditative quality in
jewelry created by Helena Emmans.
Even the way she describes her work
evokes restful, quiet aspects of nature,
... draws its inspiration from the shoreline
and natural forms such as dandelion spores
and pebbles ... burnished and oxidised surface
feels infused with the rhythm of the
moon and tides ... the circular marks
drawing the crescent read like shell or stone
erosion, tiny holes that give each piece
a unique and delicate quality.

Dazzling Dichroic and Sterling Silver - Carol Silrum Jewelry

Glass and metal are a perfect match
when Carol Silrum creates her
sterling silver and dichroic glass jewelry.

Dazzling colors tend to be
the first thing one notices.
Iridiscent dichroic glass offers
palettes of color and refractive effects that
are simply fascinating.
Some colors are soft and muted and
look like gently-brushed watercolors.
Then there are the deep jewel tones
that almost vibrate with intensity.

The best part is every piece is
imaginatively finished with a
hand-fabricated sterling silver setting.

Everything just seems to
blend together flawlessly,
and each piece is more appealing than the last.

See more of Carol Silrum's work at her
website and Facebook page.

Captivating design is a hallmark of
the jewelry created by
 Maya Kotelnitskaya.

Her diverse jewelry
is a combination of casting and hand
fabricating techniques that result in structured
yet contemporary designs.

I especially like her eclectic rings and cuffs.

Lisa Colby Jewelry

Metalsmith Lisa Colby designs
her visions in silver then adds
gold, gemstones or found objects.
I especially like how her work
shows the mark of the human hand.
In other words, I like how she
speaks metal.

She explains her work,
I create jewelry that is fabricated entirely by hand. One of the techniques I employ is that of melting sterling silver and manipulating this material while it is hot to achieve the organic shapes often seen in my designs.
